pain is the staff of life

hatchet job

Posted in Uncategorized by ruthanzo on June 11, 2011

i’m glad to see the many positive responses to the way margie gillis comported herself (gracefully) during that unnecessary attack by sun tv’s lizzie borden and ann coulter wannabe. (why would anybody want to be ann coulter? she’s so unattractive.) the reality is that absolutely everything in this sprawling country: business, the arts, sports, hospitals, doctors, government, G8-20s, is subsidized in some way, and some things deserve the tax-payer’s dollars more than others, like dance, opera, book publishing, things that help to distinguish us from a roaming pack of wild dogs (even they’re better behaved than some so-called humans.) and who do you think is paying for the new hockey arena in quebec city that our beautiful canadian sons will soon be killing each other in and which quebecor (sun media) will be managing? it won’t be quebecor.

I suspect that a forensic accountant could easily find a link between Krista Erickson’s income and the Canadian taxpayer’s expenses …. perhaps even ignoring the fact that she used to work for the CBC.Even in the case of her present “private sector” employer, there might be some government connections … maybe even aside from the hockey arena. Actually, when one looks at how the arts funding actually gets spent, it’s often overlooked that much of the money goes to airlines, taxis, hotels, restaurants, technical equipment and personnel, local support industries etc. It’s like the government redistributing some funds in the general economy. It’s possible that for the most part, the collateral expenses dispensed far outweigh the personal gain of the grant recipient.

PS, I’m not biased. I thought Krista Erickson’s dance moves ( hand gestures) were well conceived and delightfully executed. It was her other stuff that seemed unnecessarily and perhaps even deliberately wrong; clumsy, graceless and patronizing; pandering … In general, cheaply taking advantage, and using it.

I’ve been starting a photo collage of the whole interview.

I think taxpayers will end up fpoting the bill for
Erickson’s tanning bed addiction and collagen gravity accidents,
    that’s for sure.

As we say back home, gross, b’y.

I just loved Margie Gillis’ ” how sweet” comment at the very end.
Every contemporary dancer SHOULD be a millionaire.
